Oh no visitors for dinner ....

What am I going to have for dessert? (or is it just me?)

The thing is when you are trying to lose weight, look after your health dessert is a real killer!

The good news is...

It doesn't have to be.

Try my Apple and Blueberry Crumble and don't forget to read WHY these ingredients will help you keep on track. This apple crumble tastes delicious and your visitors will never know how healthy it really is!

Apple and Blueberry Crumble Ingredients:

Ingredients:

  • 4 - 6 apples (makes 4 - 6 serves)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Splash water

Slice apples thinly and place in a heavybase saucepan with cinnamon, vanilla andwater. Cook on a medium heat until theapples are soft (approximately 10 -15 minutes)

Put blueberries aside for the moment

Crumble (topping)

1 cup of old fashioned oatmeal (or quinoaflakes or Almond meal if gluten free)

1/2 cup dry toasted flaked almonds (see myyou tube video how to do this)

1/2 cup dry toasted coconut flakes (see myyou tube video how to do this)

2 Tablespoons coconut oil

1 - 2 Tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon ceylon cinnamon

Combine all of the above crumbleingredients

Putting your dessert together:

  1. Place your stewed apples in the bottomof your dish
  2. Scatter blueberries over the top
  3. place crumble over the top of apples andblueberries
  4. Place in oven (180 degrees celsius) for15 - 20 minutes (or until cooked)

Serve with 1 dollop of greek yoghurt

Extra Idea:

Make the crumble ONLY and cook in trayin oven for 15 - 20 minutes

Cool and store in an airtight container

Use this mix as a granola to add to youryoghurt as a mid morning or midafternoon snack
